Florida Teak

White Oak Wood Lumber – White Oak heartwood is a light to medium brown, often with an olive cast. Its sapwood is nearly white to light brown and is not always sharply demarcated from the heartwood. Quarter-sawn sections display prominent ray fleck patterns. White Oak is widely used in cabinet and furniture making, interior trim, flooring and veneers. Unlike Red Oak, White Oak is rated as very durable and is frequently used in boatbuilding and barrel making.

Workability: White Oak Wood Lumber is easy to work with hand and machine tools. It has moderately high shrinkage values, resulting in mediocre dimensional stability, especially in flatsawn boards. White Oak can react with iron, particularly when wet, causing staining and discoloration. It responds well to steam-bending, gluing, stains and finishes.
