Characteristics

  • Color: Light yellow-brown to reddish-brown with darker streaks.
  • Grain: Interlocked, medium to coarse texture.
  • Durability: High (Class 1), resistant to insects, decay, and weathering.
  • Density: High, an average dried weight around 750 kg/m³ (47 lbs/ft³).
  • Machinability: dense and interlocked grain, can dull tools.

  • Exterior Joinery & Decking: Popular for its longevity and natural resistance.
  • Construction: Frameworks, bridges and railway sleepers.
  • Hydraulic Works: Suitable for freshwater contact.
